Before anyone calls CPS on me, it's "Fake Injury Day" at Gavin's school. No further details were sent home, so I could only assume that we were to send our children to school looking like they had endured a freak, household accident. Feeling nervous and afraid no one else had "injured" their chidren, I dropped him off at school, relieved to see other blackened eyes, crutches and multiple bandages. Gavin's various injuries even garnered mock concern from the Vice Principal as to whether or not he'd fallen while sleepwalking last night. He assured her, it was just clown make up and that he was fine. As a mother, just seeing him like this makes me want to kiss all those pretend boo boos over & over. |
