Gavin_ChristmasMorning07

Hope you all had a very happy holiday season; we sure did -busy too!  I was trying to narrow down images to post here that captured our holidays and it's simply impossible.  Yes, my son does have perennial bed-head. For those of you who don't know, this is our first Christmas in Ontario after 12 years in BC.  It was great to be close to more of our family & I was so happy to host our family Chistmas/Birthday dinner on the 23rd - 36 is great by the way -happy birthday Bro!  So sad to those who couldn't travel because of the weather, but what can you do?  We'll just have to look forward to summer BBQ's -Christmas in July at my place!

The holidays are still on though- New Year's next!  Despite having such a great time over the holidays, I'm anxious to get back to work, and dare I say, anxious for Gavin to be back in school!

Hmmm, someone could have a lot of fun with a macro lens, Santa... he didn't bring me a snowblower by the way, but did bring me a leak in the basement!

Here's Gavin air-born at our friend's house on Boxing Day.  How much fun does this look??

There it is.  Seriously, it's there; can you see it??  It's right there behind that mountainous snowbank, the one on the left that tumbled onto my driveway this morning.  How I am going to get the pile of ice boulders off my driveway, I have no idea.

This is my son and husband, and some of the neighbourhood kids playing on the giant snowhill in the middle of our court.  Seriously, that's all just snow that the plow piled up.  Glad the kids are at least enjoying it.  Anybody want some snow?? Anybody??  Yeah, didn't think so.

We have plenty of both around here!   I know, I know, we're wimpy West Coasters who've moved into the "snowbelt".  Everyone warned us, but when the cold reality actually hits... brrr!   This is a pic of our walkway the other day; we're expecting up to 30 cm more over the weekend.

Santa, please bring me a snowblower for Christmas!!

On to the much more pleasant Christmas Spirit part of this post.  I bought the gingerbread house kit ages ago to make sure we had one this year before they sold out.  I gave him a date of Dec 14th as the *earliest* we would be putting the thing together.  Let's just say that Gavin is very, very good with dates and it stuck in his brain -there was no way I was getting out of putting it together once Dec 14th hit!  I love the concentration he gets when he does things like this.  Oh man, this kid needs a haircut badly!

And finally, our Christmas tree which has been up for a couple of weeks; but you know, you can never rearrange the decorations enough.

Thank you S. family for inviting me into your beautiful home and making me feel so welcome.  You have two very beautiful boys.

This little gentleman was one of the most cooperative two year olds around, and charming to boot.  Check out those eyes!

And oh, newborns... can you ever get enough of their sweet little faces & brand new squishy-ness?  I don't care if that's not a word, it fits! Squishy, squishy, squishy-ness!
