How *not* to pick up a cat:
1) wrap arms around cat's belly
2) yank upwards
3) repeat step 2
4) repeat step 2 a few more times, laughing so hard you can no longer hold on to said cat
5) follow cat as she loses patience and tries to walk away (notice paw braced against the couch?

I must add a disclaimer not to try this with just *any* cat; Sam is an unusually tolerant and patient little thing.  Btw, he never was successful in picking her up.

I couldn't wait to go through these; it was a great event.  A little chilly, but definitely a success.  Thank you to all the families that took part & thanks especially to all the great, exuberant kids who make my job so easy & so much fun!

Introducing Baby J; my youngest client ever.  This session was a gift for the parents from good friends located all over North America -what a great gift!  They were more than excited to use the gift certificate -so much so, they called me to shoot the morning after they brought Baby J home!  Lucky me!  And, lucky them to have such a beautiful little girl. 

Show me the bling!  We had a lot of laughs getting this shot; proving Baby J will be raised in a house full of humour.

I was about to say that J is going to make a great father -but indeed, he's already shown that his is.  His attention to both Mom & Baby's needs, his obvious love for both, nurturing nature and amazing calming talents - you are a household of very lucky women!

This image was requested specifically by P, she showed me a beautiful & very precious black and white photo hanging in the nursery of her mother holding her in much the same way and wanted to duplicate it.  What an amazing tradition, I absolutely love it.  

Thank you K family, for sharing such a precious time in your lives -you are a wonderful little family already.

I love you for your cheerful yellow colour, contrasting against the fresh spring grass.  I respect your determination, your drive for life -but must you choose my lawn to display your reproductive fitness?  I do love the childhood memories you envoke; "Polly had a dolly and her head popped off", bringing handfuls home for my Mom, rubbing them under our chins in lieu of buttercups. 

These photos of my son were inspired by photos my parents have of my brother & I at about the same age picking dandelions.  I was fortunate enough to find almost the same exact sweater as we both wore so many years ago -these are my "Dandelion Memories".
