Just one from a recent Mini-Session raindate - mmmm, lips & lashes -luscious, no?
So sorry for my poor, neglected blog; busy, busy with a lot of changes in my life, both personal & professional. Happy to report my business will be expanding! More info on that in the near future. Also happy to report that I'll be moving to a new home with a designated natural light studio -- or "un-studio" as I've been referring to it!! Again, more on that in the near future.... for now, enjoy those lips & lashes.

Every time I shoot a different baby, I think the same thing; Cutest. Baby. Ever. This is Little Man "C", and oh my, if he doesn't earn that title at least once a day, I don't know who could. Say it with me, you know you can't help it; Cutie Patootie!

4 months is such a great age; oh yeah, another thing I say all the time! Well, it is; lots of smiles, expressions & all legs & arms flapping! ( Oops, Mom, I just realized I forgot to hide the sock marks -will remember when I post the final proofs! )
I always like to feature a close up when I'm giving a Sneak Peek on my blog, but I had such a hard time trying to decide which close up to feature. Can you see why?? So, what's a photographer to do, but feature a bunch. What expressions, I giggled & snorted through the entire set!

This is a very lucky little guy; he's coming into a musical family. Mom & Dad both play piano, and often to him.

Thank you, thank you "L" family for letting me meet your Little Man and being oh so photogenic!

This is Miss "E", of the super cute cheeks & chubby thighs. This is not how I first met Miss E though.

This is how I first met her, sleeping peacefully -and a sound sleeper she is, sleeping through a location transfer & an undressing!

Soon she was awake though -Yay!!

Ready for some time with Dad... and Mom...

I just had to make a little series of these shots -she did pretty well holding herself up for all of her four months, but obviously prefers laying on her back!

Loved this client as soon as I walked through the front door -partly for the warm smile greeting me, partly because I could tell right away she had style. In the midst of renovations in a century home in downtown Barrie, what they have complete was a mix of retro & cosy contemporary, which equals; fantastic shooting opportunity for me.
I spotted this cool retro chair right away as the first spot to tuck baby "H" -Mom agreed excitedly, this is her favourite chair. Obviously "H" loves it too; what a perfect little nest. "T" was content to take her place on the shaggy rug -after a few curious & loving licks of baby first of course.

Upstairs we find large, low windows and a welcoming guest bed with you guessed it; retro patterened bedspread and fantastic, bold contemporary artwork. "H" wasn't quite as content up here, preferring nursing to sleeping at this point.

Ahhhh, what Mom doesn't remember that newborn peeling skin -making new baby skin even newer.

Finally, overcome by sleep...

Okay, okay, we'll let you rest!
Thanks "S", I spent a very enjoyable morning with you and hope I get to see the end results of your reno when it's complete!

Let me tell you something Tigger, this is *my* photoshoot, not yours, so scat, cat! I'm the cute one here.

Mom wanted this shot, she's got quite the thing for my little feet. Dad doesn't get it, but really, how could anyone resist? They're extremely interesting, especially now since I can grab them. I bet they taste really good too.
That's okay, I've obviously got the both of them wrapped around my little finger!

See, told you it was all about me -and why not? I am a total cutie-pie, you know.

This is the "V" family. A few months ago, feeling a bit lonely around the house after the death of my kitty of 13 years, a year previously, I began searching for some new companionship. I thought it would be nice to adopt two kitties together, so they had one another to play with and knowing that it was more difficult to find a home willing to take two together. My search brought me to a recently posted Kijiji ad, showing two very sweet looking kitty companions. I inquired, "J" responded with more photos, and even some very funny videos. It was obvious these two were much loved, and were being given up, only for the sake of the health of her little ones.

Through the months, we've become Facebook friends, I post photos of Sam and Bill, and send her stories about their adventures. As a thank you for giving me her precious furballs, I had to thank her & her family in the most appropriate way for a photographer such as myself -by taking their photos. The whole family came by for a family reunion, then we headed to the Maclaren Art Centre for the shoot -a great location by the way!

Thank you "V" family, Sam and Bill are indeed lovely and amusing little members of our family!

Here it is, my first ever opportunity to shoot newborn twins; of course, I went into the shoot with high expectations, a mental list of all the poses I wanted to gently coddle and nestle the two sleeping bundles into. Of course, as all little folk do, "J" & "C" had other plans; one being wanting to be awake. That's okay, awake is good! Of course, hunger soon takes over -can you tell above who's the hungry one?

So, we do the logical thing, and tag team the boys; while one was being fed, we took advantage of the other's wakefulness.

But of course, full tummies mean sleepy babies -but not always at the same time!
Baby "C" below liked his little feet free, free, free!

While Baby "J" was perfectly happy to be all snuggled in.

Can you guess which little Monkey's foot this is?

And finally, after over two hours and some gentle scolding -"J", stop kicking your brother! -ta, da!! The "Money Shot"! Finally two peaceful boys! I did a quiet little victory cheer after I got this frame!

Thank you "G" family; you were wonderful, relaxed, and helpful. The patience you both displayed during our time together will doubtlessly serve you well long into the future!

This is "C", he looks a bit serious above, but don't let that fool you; he's full of expression!

And teeth! Can you believe this little guy has 9 teeth & he's only 9 months old??

Nine months is such a great age -pulling up, crawling, sitting well & exploring their little worlds.

Thank you "H" family -it was nice to meet some "almost neighbours!" Your gallery will be up soon!

I present to you, one of the rarest of all urban dwellers - the cooperative two year old! Yes, although illusive, they do exist! Well, not quite two -he celebrated his birthday the day after our shoot. Happy Birthday!
I have to admit, when I hear I'm shooting a two year old, I go in prepared for anything! No need to worry, Mr. S was polite, interested in everything, and excited to see me. He even called me by name repeatedly long after our introduction -how's that for age two?

With fun, laid back parents like these, it's no wonder Mr. S is such a sweetie. It always makes my job so much easier when parents let their kids be themselves and take joy in their individuality & antics!

This hand-in-the-pocket pose is apparently a very common stance for Mr. S -how cute is that?

There he goes! But soon back for a very sweet smooch!

Thanks B family, I had a great time hanging out with you; it's so nice to meet such like-minded families like you. Thank you for introducing me to the lovely Richmond Greens as well -I'll definitely use this beautiful, varied location again!

Had the pleasure of meeting this family; friends of a friend, in Oakville at the storybook-worthy Gairloch Gardens. A very open and loving group; fun, hip, appreciative -a dream! Miss A was camera ready the entire time -both posing easily or playing and interacting with her family very naturally. Did I mention they were a dream?

I'll let you in on a little secret; if I tell you I'm just going off to scout out a different shooting location -I'm probably still shooting you! I love this series, I call this "Helping Hand".

Active and animated -check out the cool kicks!

I think this shot perfectly captures Miss A at her age 7 best. Can you believe she had 6 missing teeth at once??

Thank you for a fun morning, and congratulations on your upcoming marriage!

Introducing, future Bride & Groom, L & B. When I mentioned an old barn I've been wanting to try shooting at for a while, they were all up for it. They proved they were quite the troopers when we actually got there & had a bit of a field of soybeans to wade through. It was all worth it -check them out!

Can you feel the Love?

The amazing interior. Took a while to figure out how to get up into the loft, but we persevered -again, worth it!

I always push for evening sessions -can you see why?

Thanks L & B, it was an adventure!

We interrupt the stream of Montreal tourist images to bring you the lovely belly bump (and the rest of her beautiful self) of A. I was so pleased to shoot A down at Cherry Beach in Toronto -a little bit of beach, a cool life guard building, and a bit of forest to boot!
Thank you A for being so cooperative for us on this particularly muggy August day, and keeping your sense of humour during this long shoot! I think it was all totally worth it.

I couldn't be more happy with the Mini-Sessions I held for the Momstown Moms yesterday! The turnout was great, the location, Downtown Barrie's hidden gem, The Richmond Manor B&B even dreamier than anticipated. To top it off, I was blessed with a perfectly overcast sky -to a photographer, this translates as no harsh shadows and lush, saturated colours. The whole experience was worth every one of the 23 mosquito bites I received (seriously, they love me!).
Above, at 5 months, Baby A was perfectly content wherever we placed her, and very pretty in pink.
Here's G, perfectly dressed for a garden party; and very befitting this elegant little girl.

Who can resist a handsome bald man? At one month old, B is already workin' it!

F was ready to go as soon as I was -watch out Mom & Dad, you've got quite a little Flirt on your hands!

S & A gave me quite the run-around, but eventually I got 'em!

Baby E had no shortage of baby smiles for us -what a cutie!
Whew, P&P are quite the trekkers! Trouble was, they each wanted to trek in opposite directions!

I sure got my excersize with L; at only 2 years old, she was outrunning me! Lucky for me, she really liked this swing.

I fell in love with this huge maple as soon as I drove up to this house. I had the instant idea to shoot the baby laying underneath it and hoping the parents would be game. Lucky for me, they were more than game, and loved the idea! I love open minded clients -you make my job so much easier & more fun!

First-time Mom, and couldn't be more enthralled with her new little man.

Baby S was a sleepy little guy; he didn't give me much in the way of eye contactact, but there was no shortage of newborn smiles! So sweet.

This is Grandma's third grandson, and she couldn't be more doting or helpful. Great colour on her, don't you agree? ; )

Thank you S family; I had a great morning with you!
